How to get Google AdSense Approval for your website in 2021?

Published by Hasan Amjad on

You might have read multiple posts on how to to get your website approved for Google Adsense. But it’s a different post, in which I will discuss some points that are usually ignored by web publishers.

Let’s begin with the question, what AdSense actually is?

What is Google Adsense?

Google AdSense is a program run by Google through which website publishers in the Google Network of content sites serve text, images, video, or interactive media advertisements that are targeted to the site content and audience. These advertisements are administered, sorted, and maintained by Google.

Adsense is served on Google-hosted platforms like Youtube and Blogger. In addition, Adsense advertisement can also run on your personal blog or website. This particular type of Adsense is called Adsense for Content. Google gives a 68% revenue share to the web publishers.

Now, let’s talk about the eligibility requirements set up by Google for serving on your sites. Google has already mentioned some eligibility requirements for website approval. You can view that first. Then further read this post.

How to get AdSense approval for your Website in 2021?

In addition to these requirements, I will be talking about some major requirements and reasons why your site fails to comply with AdSense policies.

Number of Pages/Posts

Google hasn’t fixed any number of pages or posts for Adsense approval. If you ask me, 15 to 20 posts, with 400-500 words are sufficiently enough. But while writing these posts please take care that you don’t copy them from any website. It will affect your page ranking and there are chances your site may not be approved. So write high-quality articles without any spelling or grammatical mistakes.
Before applying for Google Adsense make sure you have made the following pages,

  • About Us
  • Contact Us
  • Privacy Policy
  • Disclaimer/ Terms of use (Optional)

Like posts or pages, no requirement by Google for traffic. You don’t need to have thousands of views each day to get approval. You can have little traffic. But the problem here is that, even if you get AdSense approval with low traffic. then without sufficient traffic, you won’t be able to earn through Adsense. In short, traffic may not be a requirement for your Adsense approval but you won’t be able to earn without traffic.

Your site should have a proper navigation menu. The user who visits your site should easily visit any page of your website. I would recommend using a main menu on the top with the main pages of your website and a bottom menu with pages, (Home, About Us, Contact Us, Privacy Policy)

Broken Links

Make sure your site doesn’t have broken links. Broken links refer to the pages which don’t take the user to any webpage. To check the broken links, check through the site Siteliner. If any broken links are found fix them before applying for Google Adsense.

Indexing Webpages

Make sure that the site is indexed. Submit your website sitemap to the Google Search Console for indexing.

Site URL

On average,  site URLs that are 3 to 6 months old get Adsense approval. But in some cases, I have seen sites with 1-2 months old URLs also get approved. If you have ample posts and traffic, you can try after a month. I would recommend buying .com domains for your site. But that doesn’t mean other sites cannot get approval. They do get approval, but if you have a choice you must choose the .com domain.

Final Verdict

I think I have covered most of the necessary things that are needed for the Adsense approval. If despite all these changes, you are still unable to get AdSense approval for your website. Mention your website in the comments section. I will review it and help you get the approval for your website.
