Brian Acton is an American Internet entrepreneur and computer programmer, best known as WhatsApp’s co-founder. Acton is a Stanford University computer science graduate who began his career as a system administrator for Rockwell International. He worked with companies such as Adobe Systems, Apple, and Yahoo Inc. He invested in the dot-com boom, but during the dot-com crash of 2000, he lost millions.

He left Yahoo. His colleague Jan Koum and Acton developed WhatsApp, the mobile messaging application. The duo, who once applied for Facebook jobs but faced rejection. The same pair sold WhatsApp to Facebook for US$19 billion in February 2014. It is the most significant Facebook acquisition to date. Acton left WhatsApp in September 2017 to start a non-profit organization founded in February 2018. Brian began the Signal Foundation with American computer security researcher Moxie Marlinspike.

The business started after $50 million was invested by Brian. It provides a loan to run the company. The load increased to $105,000,400, which is payable by February 28, 2068. Brian is currently the world’s 836th wealthiest person, with a net worth of $2.5 billion.
