There are different ways for a person to being relaxed. Don’t forget to take care of yourself during stressful times and be relax. With a worldwide pandemic and an ever-changing news cycle, 2020 has been hard on everyone. Here are many manageable strategies that may help you in relaxation, connection, and motivation during these trying times.

How to reduce hyperstimulation

It’s easy to become hyperstimulation by the constant, everyday news cycle coupled with stress from school and (or) work. Retreat into a cool, dark room and turn off all your technology for a few minutes. Take deep breaths. Focus and relax by squeezing your hands, toes, and leg muscles. Drink cold water. This is one of the important ways for a person to relax.

How to stop your mind racing

Among the different ways, this is one of the crucial ways of being relaxed. If your mind and heart race when you’re anxious or stressed, it’s difficult to get anything done. Drink a glass of cool water and eat a protein-rich snack. If you must get work done, listen to low-tempo music. Also, try this measured breathing exercise: inhale for four seconds, hold for four seconds, exhale for four seconds, and repeat.

How to avoid being hypervigilant

If you’re scrolling through your social media feeds or constantly looking for news, you’re being hyper-vigilant online. Keep your nerves at bay by setting a timer for 15 minutes and putting your phone away. Find a space in your home and make it technology-free. Use your tech-free space as a place to nap, draw, or write. It will help you in relaxation.

Focus on the present

Returning your focus to the present will enhance your performance and your mind will get relax from future endeavors. We should realize that we cannot change the past so we should not worry about it. Try taking a deep breath and asking yourself how you are feeling right now.
